The back pages on Sunday morning led with a striker who is not getting on the pitch often enough for his liking. Viktor Gyokeres, 28, is reported by TeamTalk to be ready to push for a move away from Arsenal in January, with a lack of playing time behind it. For a Sweden international who arrived with the goalscoring record he did, that is not a small story.

Liverpool line up a fallback in midfield

Liverpool are keeping an eye on Borussia Dortmund's Felix Nmecha, 26, according to CaughtOffside, though the interest appears conditional. The report frames Nmecha as the alternative if the club cannot land Alex Scott, 23, from Bournemouth. That ordering matters: it suggests Scott is the first choice and the German is the insurance policy rather than a parallel target.

Elsewhere in midfield, Corriere dello Sport says AC Milan are preparing to offer Adrien Rabiot a new contract running to 2030 on the back of a strong start to the season. The Frenchman is 31, so a four-year extension would carry him to 35 at the club.

Chelsea busy on several fronts

Xabi Alonso is said to be looking at squad depth in January, and Football365 links Chelsea with two Barcelona players: the France defender Jules Kounde, 27, and the Netherlands midfielder Frenkie de Jong, 29. Prising either out of Barcelona in a mid-season window would be a considerable piece of business, and the timing invites scepticism.

The same club crop up twice more. FootballTransfers reports interest in Mathis Albert, the 17-year-old United States winger at Dortmund who has made a single appearance for the German side, while Ekrem Konur says Chelsea are in advanced talks for Strasbourg's Moroccan winger Gessime Yassine, 20. Two teenagers and two established internationals is a wide net by anyone's standard.

Defenders, teenagers and a free transfer

SportWitness reports that Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle have all shown interest in Roma's Brazil defender Wesley, 23. The same outlet carries a denial of sorts elsewhere: Arsenal and United have apparently ruled out any move for Sporting's Uruguay left-back Maxi Araujo, 26.

TeamTalk adds another teenage name to Arsenal's list, with IFK Goteborg's 17-year-old Sweden midfielder Oliver Mansson said to be of interest to them and to Chelsea. And at the other end of the age range, Football Insider reports that Solly March, 32, is set to join Charlton on a free. The former Brighton defender has been without a club since being released in July, so a Championship side picking him up at no cost is one of the more straightforward items here.
