Gossip: AC Milan Want Alex Scott as Bayern Talk to JJ Gabriel

Sunday's papers and the European agency wires have Bournemouth bracing for interest in one of their better assets, Manchester United trying to keep hold of a 16-year-old, and Liverpool linked with two forwards and a defender inside the same news cycle. The usual Sunday, in other words, with one or two items that carry a bit more weight than the rest.

Milan circling Alex Scott

AC Milan want Alex Scott. The Bournemouth midfielder is 23 and an England international, and Tuttomercatoweb report that Milan have stayed keen even as his valuation has climbed. Bournemouth have been here before with players who grew into the Premier League on the south coast and then attracted a bigger name, and the club's record suggests they will set a price and sit on it rather than negotiate down.

Over at Old Trafford, the situation with JJ Gabriel is a different kind of problem. Sky Sports Germany say Bayern Munich have held fresh talks about the 16-year-old attacking midfielder without putting an offer on the table, partly because there is a sense he is leaning towards Spain. Barcelona and Real Madrid are described as the favourites. United have had enough teenagers walk out of the academy over the years to know how this tends to end once a player's head turns.

Liverpool shopping in two markets at once

Porto have reacted to Liverpool's interest in William Gomes by raising the release clause in the 20-year-old Brazil forward's contract to 100m euros, around £85m, according to A Bola. That is the standard Portuguese response to an English club asking politely, and it usually works.

Fichajes also have Liverpool looking at Jules Kounde, with Barcelona said to be open to offers around £60m for the France full-back. Whether a club that has just been quoted £85m for a forward then goes and spends £60m on a defender is another matter entirely.

Chelsea hold the line on Camara

Chelsea have not given up on Lamine Camara after missing out on the Monaco midfielder in the summer, Goal report, but they will not meet the Ligue 1 club's 70m euro valuation, roughly £59m. The Senegal international is 22. Chelsea's position reads like a club that expects the price to come down rather than one that has cooled on the player.

Finally, a small item that may matter later: Goal say Manchester City made an approach in the summer to sign Mathis Albert, the 17-year-old United States forward, from Borussia Dortmund. Nothing came of it. Given how City usually operate with young forwards they like, it is unlikely to be the last anyone hears of it.

Transfer context: Sources for this round-up, Sunday 11 October 2026 — Tuttomercatoweb (Scott), Sky Sports Germany (Gabriel), A Bola (Gomes), Fichajes (Kounde), Goal (Camara, Albert). None of these moves is agreed and all figures are as reported.
