Hibernian's search for a manager has produced a shortlist with a distinctly continental flavour. Michel Kniat, formerly of Arminia Bielefeld, and Vesa Vasara, currently in charge of Finnish side Inter Turku, are both understood to be under consideration at Easter Road.
Marink Reedijk, the former Beveren head coach, is said to be keen on the job. Stephen Bradley is another name in circulation, and the Shamrock Rovers head coach carries an obvious advantage: he would reportedly be available without any compensation payment.
Rangers cash in on a defender
Clinton Nsiala has left Rangers for Sharjah FC in the United Arab Emirates on a two-year deal. The Ibrox club receive £300,000 for the 22-year-old Frenchman.
At the other end of the market, Celtic and Rangers are both said to be among a long list of clubs interested in a January loan for Arsenal's Max Dowman. The midfielder does not turn 17 until 31 December, which gives some sense of how early clubs are now moving on players of that profile.
Aberdeen want to tie down Molloy
Stephen Robinson is hoping to agree a new contract with defender Gavin Molloy. The 24-year-old has become a fixture in the Aberdeen side and securing him would remove one question from Robinson's summer.
Over at Tynecastle, Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken is taking a break in Belgium during the international window before returning for what has been described as a rigorous block of training.
Robertson on being released by Celtic
Andy Robertson has been reflecting on the club that let him go. The Scotland captain says Celtic meant everything to him growing up, but that being released turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to his career. Hard to argue with the evidence.
New Scotland head coach Sebastien Pocognoli, meanwhile, has been setting expectations for himself rather than lowering them. "The bar is very high," he said, pointing to the country's heritage as the reason.
Gossip round-up: Michel Kniat (ex-Arminia Bielefeld), Vesa Vasara (Inter Turku), Marink Reedijk (ex-Beveren) and Stephen Bradley (Shamrock Rovers) all linked with the Hibernian vacancy, with Bradley available without compensation.
