Liverpool have tabled an improved bid worth approximately €135m (£115m) to Paris Saint-Germain for France winger Bradley Barcola, stepping up their pursuit of the 23-year-old with just over a week remaining in the summer transfer window. The move signals that Andoni Iraola's side are deadly serious about landing one of Europe's most exciting attackers before the September 1 deadline.

Barcola, who has entered the final two years of his PSG contract, has made no secret of his desire to leave the Parc des Princes this summer. He has been frustrated by a lack of consistent starting minutes at PSG and has informed the club he will not be signing an extension. Liverpool have long been admirers — Sky Sports originally reported their interest last spring — and his omission from PSG's squad for their recent Ligue 1 opener against Lens was widely interpreted as a sign that a departure is imminent.

The stumbling block remains PSG's valuation. The French club held firm at £145m but the signing of Ajax winger Mika Godts for up to £47m is viewed as a direct replacement, potentially clearing the path for Barcola to leave. Liverpool's improved offer brings them closer to PSG's asking price, and sources suggest the two clubs are now in active dialogue. Arsenal have also been linked, but Liverpool are understood to be the frontrunners.

For Iraola, landing Barcola would be a genuine statement of intent heading into a season where Liverpool are targeting a return to the Premier League's top four. With Darwin Núñez misfiring and the squad lacking a genuine match-winner on the left flank, Barcola — quick, direct, and capable of creating chances from nothing — would represent one of the most exciting arrivals at Anfield in years.
