He made 30 appearances in Germany, scored six goals from centre-back, and drew comparisons to the great ball-playing defenders of the last two decades.
His 2026 World Cup in the USA only heightened his profile further. Vuskovic made Croatia's squad and started in their last-16 tie against Portugal, demonstrating composure under intense pressure that belied his age entirely.
