Mary Earps is close to returning to the Women's Super League, with London City Lionesses nearing an agreement to sign the former England goalkeeper.

The 33-year-old is expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain when her contract expires. Sky Sports reports that discussions have been ongoing for some time and the remaining details are close to being finalised.

London City making an ambitious move

Earps spent five years at Manchester United before joining PSG in 2024. A move to London City would bring her back to English football after two seasons in France.

She was a major part of England's Euro 2022-winning team and played throughout the Lionesses' run to the 2023 World Cup final. Earps later retired from international football before Euro 2025.

Deal is close but not yet official

London City have been active as they prepare for the new WSL season. Spain defender Mapi León is also set to join after confirming her departure from Barcelona.

Earps' move has not yet been announced as complete. The current position is that agreements are close and the goalkeeper is expected to join once the final details are settled.
