Chelsea have signed Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe on a three-year contract following her departure from Arsenal.
The 30-year-old moves across London after a decade with the Gunners, adding experience and versatility to Sonia Bompastor's Women's Super League squad.
McCabe leaves Arsenal after 264 appearances
McCabe joined Arsenal in 2015 and went on to play 264 matches for the club. Her time in north London included the 2018-19 Women's Super League title, three League Cups and the 2025 Women's Champions League trophy.
Arsenal confirmed in May that she would leave when her contract expired this summer. Chelsea have now completed the move, keeping the defender and midfielder in the WSL.
Chelsea add a proven WSL competitor
McCabe can play at left-back or further forward and is known for her intensity on the pitch. She will join a Chelsea side aiming to challenge domestically and in Europe under Bompastor.
Her transfer also carries an extra edge because of the rivalry between the clubs. McCabe's first meeting with Arsenal as a Chelsea player will be closely watched when the new season begins.
