Erling Haaland is not going anywhere. Despite sustained interest from Real Madrid, PSG and Barcelona, the Norwegian striker's agent Rafaela Pimenta has delivered an unambiguous message: Haaland is committed to Manchester City. He signed a contract through 2034, and he has no intention of leaving early.

Why the Rumours Won't Go Away

The interest was always real. Florentino Pérez at Real Madrid has reportedly been dreaming of signing Haaland for years. PSG formally informed City of their interest during the 2025-26 season. Barcelona, despite their financial constraints, have kept tabs on the striker who has scored over 160 Premier League goals in three seasons. The problem for all three clubs is the same: Manchester City have priced him at €200 million and showed no willingness to negotiate. A player under contract until 2034 is not available — and City's board have been consistent on that point.

The Post-Guardiola Question

What complicates the picture is the ongoing transition at the Etihad. Pep Guardiola left City last summer and the club are now under new management. Haaland's relationship with his former coach was seen as one of the key factors in his continued happiness in Manchester. Without Guardiola, some observers have questioned whether the striker's commitment is as ironclad as his agent suggests.

The World Cup Factor

The summer World Cup adds another variable. A tournament-winning performance for Norway — or even a Golden Boot — would set off another wave of speculation regardless of what his agent says now. For now, City are holding firm, Haaland is contracted, and the asking price makes any approach a non-starter. The clubs dreaming about him will have to keep dreaming.
