GREALISH LOAN CONFIRMED: 'ONLY WANTED EVERTON' SAYS £100M MAN AFTER CITY FALL FROM GRACE
Everton have pulled off one of the headline moves of the transfer window, securing the signature of England star Jack Grealish as their sixth recruit of the summer. The 29-year-old winger joins a busy intake that already includes Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, and Adam Aznou.
Grealish revealed that a frank conversation with David Moyes sealed the deal. “The moment I spoke with the manager, my mind was made up. Everton is a massive club with passionate fans, and I’ve already been blown away by the messages I’ve received. Now it’s my turn to give something back on the pitch,” he said.
The former Manchester City man is in line for a debut against Leeds in Everton’s Premier League curtain-raiser. His time at the Etihad brought three league titles, an FA Cup, and a Champions League medal after his £100m move from Aston Villa in 2021. But last season was one of frustration — limited to seven league starts and left out of the Club World Cup squad.
For Grealish, Merseyside represents a fresh stage and a shot at redemption, particularly with the England squad in his sights after missing Euro 2024. Moyes believes the timing is perfect. “He’s got the know-how, the quality, and the hunger. We want to give him the platform to show everyone just how good he can be.”
