Broja joins Burnley from Chelsea

 

BURNLEY SIGN BROJA! CLARETS COMPLETE £20M DEAL FOR CHELSEA STRIKER

Burnley have strengthened their attack with the signing of Albania international Armando Broja from Chelsea in a transfer understood to be worth up to £20 million. The 23-year-old forward has penned a five-year contract at Turf Moor, becoming the Clarets’ ninth summer arrival.

Broja is the second player this week to swap Stamford Bridge for Lancashire, following midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu’s move earlier in the window.

“It’s a great time to join Burnley,” Broja said. “I’m feeling good, I’m ready, and I can already sense the passion from the fans. Every time I wear the Claret shirt, I’ll give everything.”

The striker, who made his Chelsea debut in 2020, featured 38 times for the Blues but found consistent minutes hard to come by, spending loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem, Southampton, Fulham, and Everton.

Broja is expected to feature in Burnley’s friendly against Lazio this weekend as Scott Parker’s side gear up for their Premier League opener away to Tottenham on Saturday, 16 August.
