Thursday's papers put Lisandro Martinez at the top of the pile again, and not in a way Manchester United will enjoy reading. The Argentina defender's contract runs out next summer, and after his criticism of the club's hierarchy there are doubts about whether it gets extended at all, according to Sky Sports. He is 28. A fortnight ago this was a conversation about a renewal.

United looking forward while an argument runs behind them

CaughtOffside reports that United and Arsenal are both watching Bazoumana Toure, the Ivory Coast attacker who only joined Newcastle this summer. He is 20. Newcastle will not thank anyone for the attention.

The dugout gets its own round of speculation. The Sun names Brighton's Fabian Hurzeler as the standout option among current Premier League head coaches should United's board decide to move on from Michael Carrick, while Talksport adds Antonio Conte and Julian Nagelsmann to the list of names with admirers inside the club. Talksport also has Vitor Pereira, formerly of Wolves and Nottingham Forest, pushing for a Premier League return and linked with a struggling Fulham.

Sancho's Spanish option

Getafe want Jadon Sancho on a free transfer and are working out how to meet the England winger's salary demands, says DAZN via Mundo Deportivo. Sancho is 26. Wages are the whole story here, as they tend to be with free agents who were once the most expensive thing in the room.

In Madrid, Jose Mourinho has pushed back on the idea that Endrick needs a January loan to play. The Real Madrid manager told TNT Sports Brazil, as reported by the Athletic, that the 20-year-old will be a "huge success" at the club. Endrick scored the equaliser off the bench in Rome on Wednesday night, which helps the argument.

Liverpool, Leeds and a hat-trick that got noticed

Liverpool have stepped up their interest in Gilberto Mora and hope to get a deal for the Club Tijuana midfielder done in January, per Teamtalk. The Mexico international is 18. Leeds, meanwhile, fear they will lose Tarik Muharemovic next summer, with Bayern Munich among those circling the 23-year-old Bosnia defender, says Football Insider.

And Fichajes has Barcelona tracking Nicolo Tresoldi. The Germany under-21 striker, 22, scored a hat-trick for Club Brugge against Inter Milan on Tuesday. Few audition tapes get watched faster than that one.
