Paris St-Germain have started their Ligue 1 title defence with two draws, and on both occasions they were two goals down. On Friday night at the Decathlon Arena it took until the 95th minute to rescue a point against Lille, and Marquinhos was the man who did it.
Vitinha had pulled one back a minute into stoppage time. The captain found the second four minutes later, in front of 47,793 people who had spent most of the evening believing their side had won.
Giroud runs the show at 39
For 84 minutes this was Lille's night, and Olivier Giroud was the reason. The former France striker, now 39, set up both home goals. The first was finished by Hakon Haraldsson in the 21st minute. The second, deep into the second half, was tucked away by Dilane Bakwa.
Davide Ancelotti's side looked set for two wins from two. Their manager will spend the weekend wondering how a team can control a match for that long and still take only a point from it.
PSG keep escaping
Last weekend PSG came from 0-2 down to draw 2-2. This weekend they did it again, only later. Two comebacks in eight days says something about the character in that dressing room. It also says something less flattering about how they begin matches.
The champions have four points from a possible six. Neither performance suggested last season's dominance is going to repeat itself without a serious fight.
