When three of England's biggest clubs start circling the same player at the same time, the selling club rarely wins that fight. West Ham United know that. If the Hammers drop out of the Premier League on Sunday, they will face a decision they cannot delay: sell Jarrod Bowen, their captain and best player, and raise the £100 million the club reportedly need to remain viable in the Championship, or try to hold on and watch him leave anyway — probably for less, and probably in worse circumstances.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all tracking the 29-year-old England international, according to multiple reports. Goal.com and The Hard Tackle have both confirmed that all three clubs have made inquiries. West Ham hold a strong hand contractually — he is tied down until 2030 — but financial reality has a way of weakening even the firmest bargaining positions.
Why Liverpool Want Him
The logic is straightforward. Mohamed Salah is leaving. Bowen plays on the right wing, works hard defensively, scores goals and creates chances. He posted 13 goals and 9 assists in the league this season despite playing in a side fighting relegation. He is not a direct like-for-like for Salah in terms of ceiling, but he is a reliable, experienced Premier League attacker who could contribute from day one.
Why United and Chelsea Are Interested
Manchester United's interest is more tactical. Under Michael Carrick, they have operated with two wide forwards who press aggressively and can work on either flank. Bryan Mbeumo fills one side brilliantly; Bowen could do the same on the left. Chelsea's pursuit is less defined, but whoever inherits their project may see him as an upgrade on what they currently carry wide.
The Price Tag Problem
Bowen's contract until 2030 means West Ham can realistically demand somewhere between £50 million and £65 million even in a relegated state. All three clubs have the resources. The real question is whether Bowen himself pushes for a specific destination. The next few weeks will settle it.
Transfer context: Jarrod Bowen, 29, West Ham United. Contract until 2030. 13 goals, 9 assists in 2025-26 Premier League. Clubs: Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United. West Ham face relegation on the final day. Estimated fee: £50-65m.
