Arsenal Go Six Points Clear of Man City After Saka and Gyokeres Destroy Fulham 3-0

Arsenal made a massive statement in the Premier League title race on Saturday, hammering Fulham 3-0 at the Emirates to open up a six-point gap over Manchester City with just a handful of games remaining.

Two goals from Bukayo Saka and one from new signing Viktor Gyokeres gave Mikel Arteta's side one of their most convincing wins of the season — a performance that sent a clear message to every team still chasing the title.

Saka Runs the Show

Saka was electric from the first whistle. He opened the scoring after just 18 minutes, cutting in from the right and curling a left-footed effort past the helpless Bernd Leno. It was a goal that had Arteta's class of 2026 stamped all over it — intelligent movement, sharp execution, and absolutely no mercy.

His second came from the penalty spot midway through the second half after he was bundled over in the box. The England winger stepped up himself and sent Leno the wrong way. Twelve league goals and 11 assists for the season — and the campaign is not done yet.

Gyokeres Proves His Worth

Viktor Gyokeres rounded off the scoring with a header on 73 minutes, nodding home a pinpoint cross from Leandro Trossard to make it three. The Swedish striker, who arrived from Sporting CP in January, now has seven goals in his first 11 Arsenal appearances — more than enough to silence anyone who questioned the move.

Gyokeres said after the match: "This is what I came here for. The team is playing at an incredible level and I just want to contribute as much as I can."

Title Race: Arsenal in Control

The gap is now six points over Manchester City, who host Aston Villa on Sunday. City would need Arsenal to drop points in their remaining games and win all of their own — a tall order given the form Arteta's men have shown.

Tottenham, in third, are eight points adrift. Realistically, this title race has been narrowed to two clubs. Arsenal have the momentum, the squad depth, and the belief.

Arteta was measured but clearly satisfied after the final whistle: "We spoke before the game about doing our job. We did our job today. There is still more to do."

Fulham Had No Answer

In fairness to Marco Silva's Fulham, they competed for the opening 15 minutes. But once Saka broke the deadlock, the game's direction was never in serious doubt. Raul Jimenez was isolated up front, starved of service, and the Cottagers' inability to create anything of quality summed up the gap between a top-four side and a team scrapping for mid-table comfort.

What This Means Going Forward

Arsenal have four league games left. If they can maintain this level — and there is no reason to think they cannot — the Premier League title will be heading to north London for the first time since Arsene Wenger's Invincibles lifted it in 2004.

The city of Arsenal is dreaming. And after today, it is hard to blame them.
