MIDDLESBROUGH SIGN FRENCH DEFENDER MALANDA FROM CHARLOTTE FC
Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Adilson Malanda from MLS side Charlotte FC on a long-term contract.
The 23-year-old centre-back has agreed a five-and-a-half-year deal with Boro but will remain with Charlotte until the conclusion of the current MLS season in November before linking up with Rob Edwards’ squad.
Malanda becomes Middlesbrough’s sixth signing of the summer window, adding further depth to a defensive unit already bolstered by the arrivals of Alfie Jones and Callum Brittain. His move also comes just days after Boro secured the loan capture of Manchester City midfielder Sverre Nypan.
With back-to-back victories to open the new league campaign, Boro’s best start since 1994, the addition of Malanda highlights the club’s determination to build a side capable of sustaining momentum throughout the season and beyond.
