Arsenal submit formal approach for Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze

ARSENAL INITIATE TRANSFER MOVE FOR PALACE'S EBERECHI EZE

Arsenal have formally made their move to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, with a bid of around £60 million being prepared for the England international.

The Gunners face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, who have also been in advanced discussions with Palace over the 27-year-old. Spurs have been pushing hard in recent days, with talks progressing positively as they look to add another attacking option before the transfer deadline.

Arsenal’s urgency comes after concerns over a knee issue for Kai Havertz, which has left Mikel Arteta eager to strengthen his forward line. Eze, known for his creativity and ability to play across attacking positions, is seen as an ideal fit to provide both depth and quality in the final third.

Despite the speculation, Palace boss Oliver Glasner confirmed that Eze remains focused on the club’s upcoming UEFA Conference League play-off clash against Fredrikstad, where he is expected to start alongside defender Marc Guehi, who has also attracted transfer interest. Glasner insisted both players are “committed to the team” for now.

Behind the scenes, however, it is understood that Eze is keen on a switch to Arsenal before the window shuts on 1 September, which could give the Gunners the edge in negotiations.

Eze, who saw a goal disallowed in Palace’s opening-day draw at Chelsea, had a release clause worth £60m plus £8m in add-ons earlier in the summer, but that clause has now expired. This means Palace hold the negotiating power and are expected to demand a premium to sanction his departure.

With less than two weeks remaining in the window, Arsenal and Tottenham are now in direct competition for one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking talents.
