Nypan joins Middlesbrough from Man City

MIDDLESBROUGH SIGN MAN CITY MIDFIELDER NYPAN ON SEASON-LONG LOAN

Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Sverre Nypan from Manchester City on a season-long loan, adding another exciting talent to their squad for the 2025/26 campaign.

The 18-year-old midfielder, a rising star for Norway’s Under-21 side, only arrived at the Etihad this summer after City paid £12.5 million to Rosenborg for his services in June. Highly rated for his technical ability and composure on the ball, Nypan is seen as one of Scandinavia’s brightest young prospects.

He becomes Boro’s fifth summer signing, following the arrivals of Alfie Jones, Callum Brittain, Abdoulaye Kante and Sontje Hansen, as head coach Rob Edwards continues to build a dynamic, youthful squad.

With Middlesbrough making a perfect start to the season, winning both of their opening league fixtures, Nypan could be handed his debut in Saturday’s clash against Norwich City.

The move is expected to give the teenager valuable game time at senior level, while providing Middlesbrough with extra creativity and energy in midfield as they target a strong push this season.
