Marcus Rashford's future at Manchester United remains one of the most complicated questions in English football. The 27-year-old has spent the second half of this season on loan at Aston Villa after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim, and while he has shown glimpses of his best form at Villa Park, the situation heading into the summer is anything but clear.
United have a decision to make. The Portuguese coach, for his part, has made clear he does not plan to reintegrate the forward. When Rashford was frozen out in January, Amorim explained simply that he needed players who were fully committed to his system. Whether Rashford can be that player — at United or anywhere else — is the central question of his summer.
A move abroad has been mentioned, with clubs in Spain and France reportedly interested. At his best, Rashford is a genuinely special talent — direct, quick, and devastating in transition. He has played for England at major tournaments, scored goals in Champions League knockout rounds, and produced moments of brilliance that remind you why United handed him that contract in the first place.
But consistency has eluded him for three seasons now, and at 27, the window to rediscover his peak is starting to narrow. Whatever happens this summer, it will define the next chapter of one of English football's most fascinating and frustrating careers.
