EXCLUSIVE: Man United open Sesko negotiations despite Amorim's plans

TRANSFER BREAKTHROUGH: MAN UTD INITIATE SESKO NEGOTIATIONS AS STRIKER SEARCH HEATS UP

Manchester United have officially opened transfer negotiations with RB Leipzig for the signing of Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško, as the Premier League giants intensify their search for a prolific centre-forward ahead of the new season.

United’s recruitment team has entered into advanced talks with Leipzig and is believed to be prioritizing Šeško as a long-term addition to their frontline. Discussions are centered around a potential fee in the region of €70–80 million, with room for performance-based add-ons.

Šeško, 22, is one of the most sought-after young forwards in Europe and has been on United’s radar for over a year. Known for his pace, power, and ability to finish with both feet, he is seen as a perfect fit for United’s evolving attacking style.

Despite interest from several top European clubs, Šeško is said to be leaning toward a move to Old Trafford. Even without European football this season, United’s stature and project reportedly appeal to the player, who sees the club as an ideal platform for growth and exposure.

United’s sporting leadership has made a strong internal case for Šeško as the right blend of youth, quality, and long-term value, especially as they look to build a core capable of challenging for titles again.

Newcastle United have also expressed interest and remain active in discussions, but they are currently seen as trailing behind United in terms of player preference. Other clubs, including Manchester City and top sides from Germany and Spain, have been linked, but no formal bids have matched United’s intent so far.

Šeško’s current club, RB Leipzig, are open to a sale under the right conditions. While they are reluctant to lose a key player, they are expected to consider serious offers in the €70 million and above range.

Manchester United’s approach this summer has centered on building a younger, hungrier squad with resale potential. After adding reinforcements in midfield and wide areas, the club is now turning its attention to securing a marquee No. 9.

To fund the move, United are open to letting go of several players, including high-wage attackers who are no longer central to the manager’s plans. This could include both permanent transfers and loan deals as part of a broader squad reshuffle.

United are preparing a structured offer, possibly including add-ons, to match Leipzig’s valuation. Personal terms are expected to be agreed swiftly if Leipzig accept the bid, with preliminary contacts between the club and the player’s representatives already positive.

A deal could be wrapped up in the coming weeks, with United eager to finalize the transfer before their Premier League opener.

Manchester United are now in active negotiations to sign Benjamin Šeško from RB Leipzig, with a deal expected to fall within the €70–80 million range. The player favors a move to Old Trafford, despite interest from other clubs. If completed, this could be United’s statement signing of the summer—one that defines their attack for years to come.
