SHEFFIELD UNITED SIGN MILLWALL DEFENDER JAPHET TANGANGA FOR SIGNIFICANT FEE
The 26-year-old defender has signed a three-year contract at Bramall Lane, becoming the Blades’ latest addition in a busy week following the arrival of veteran striker Danny Ings.
Tanganga, a product of Tottenham Hotspur’s academy, broke into the first team in North London and registered 50 appearances in all competitions before testing himself abroad with FC Augsburg. A subsequent switch to Millwall proved decisive for his career, as regular minutes reignited his form. His performances last season not only earned him the club’s Player of the Year award but also established him as one of the most reliable defenders in the Championship.
Several Premier League sides were monitoring his situation, but Sheffield United moved decisively to secure his signature as they fight to reverse their poor start to the campaign.
Reflecting on the move, Tanganga said:
"Leaving Spurs was all about finding a place where I could play consistently. Millwall gave me that chance, and now I want to build on it here with United. It feels like the right step at the right time."
