RANGERS SECURE SEASON-LOAN DEAL FOR BRENTFORD DEFENDER JAYDEN MEGHOMA
Rangers have confirmed the signing of Jayden Meghoma on a season-long loan from Premier League side Brentford.
The 19-year-old left-back, regarded as one of the most promising defensive talents in English football, will spend the 2025/26 campaign at Ibrox as Philippe Clement looks to strengthen his defensive options ahead of a busy season at home and in Europe.
Meghoma joined Brentford from Southampton’s academy in 2023 and has since developed into a highly rated prospect, featuring in first-team training and making appearances in domestic cup competitions. His pace, energy, and ability to push forward from full-back made him an attractive target for Rangers, who have been keen to add depth on the left side of their defense.
Speaking after completing the move, Meghoma expressed his excitement:
“Rangers is a massive club with incredible history. I’m here to learn, to play my part, and to help the team achieve success this season. The chance to experience European football and play in front of these fans is something I’m really looking forward to.”
For Rangers, the deal marks another step in reshaping the squad as they look to challenge Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race while making progress in European competition. Meghoma is expected to compete for a starting place immediately, giving Clement greater tactical flexibility.
