FLEETWOOD TOWN SIGN DUNFERMLINE'S LEWIS MCCANN
Fleetwood Town have bolstered their attacking options with the arrival of striker Lewis McCann, who joins from Dunfermline Athletic on a two-year deal.
The 24-year-old, a former Northern Ireland Under-21 international, carved out a solid reputation in Scotland with the Pars, where he notched up 28 goals across 169 appearances. McCann’s consistency and work rate made him a regular feature since his arrival at East End Park in 2018, following his early footballing education in the Heart of Midlothian youth setup.
One of his standout campaigns came in 2022-23, when his 10-goal haul played a pivotal role in helping Dunfermline secure promotion back to the Scottish Championship. In the two seasons that followed, he maintained a steady output with seven league goals each term, showing his ability to adapt and contribute at a higher level.
Fleetwood’s move for McCann underlines their intent to add both experience and versatility to their frontline as they look to push on in League Two this season. For the striker himself, it offers a fresh challenge south of the border and an opportunity to test himself in the English game.
