BAYERN MUNICH SUFFER ANOTHER TRANSFER BLOW AS €40M BID FOR STUTTGART'S NICK WOLTEMADE GETS REJECTED
Bayern Munich have been dealt another frustrating blow in the summer transfer window after their €40 million bid for Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade was rejected. The Bundesliga champions are working to refresh their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season, but negotiations with domestic rivals have proven difficult once again.
Woltemade, 23, has emerged as one of the most exciting attacking talents in the German top flight, impressing last season with his physical presence, intelligent link-up play, and increasing goal output. His performances caught the attention of Bayern’s recruitment team, who view him as a versatile forward capable of operating across multiple roles in the front line.
Despite the sizeable offer, Stuttgart are reluctant to sell one of their most valuable assets, especially to a direct rival. The club views Woltemade as central to their long-term project and are under no financial pressure to sell. Talks may continue, but Bayern are expected to consider other options as frustration grows over the lack of progress in the market.
This marks yet another setback for Bayern in a challenging summer window. The club has already missed out on several top targets, and with Vincent Kompany now at the helm, the pressure is on to strengthen the squad after an underwhelming finish to the previous campaign.
Woltemade, who is reportedly happy at Stuttgart, has not agitated for a move, but Bayern may return with an improved offer if alternative targets fall through. For now, Stuttgart remain firm in their stance: their star man is not for sale—at least not at the current price.
With preseason fast approaching, Bayern will need to move swiftly if they hope to bolster their attack before the new season kicks off. Whether that includes a renewed push for Woltemade or a shift in direction remains to be seen.
