As uncertainty grows around the long-term status of André Onana — following a rocky debut season and recent injury concerns — United are prioritising reinforcements in the goalkeeping department. While the club has held exploratory talks regarding Martinez, whose experience and commanding presence appeal to decision-makers, the high fee and Aston Villa's reluctance to sell have made the pursuit difficult.
Now, attention has turned to Senne Lammens, the highly rated Belgian shot-stopper currently at RB Leipzig. The 23-year-old, formerly of Club Brugge, is viewed as one of Europe’s most promising young goalkeepers.
