Transfer U-Turn: Firmino Ready to Terminate Saudi Deal for Premier League

FIRMINO EYES SAUDI EXIT! EX-LIVERPOOL STAR WANTS AL-AHLI DEPARTURE AS 'DREAM HOMECOMING' PLANS TAKE SHAPE

Roberto Firmino could be on the move again, less than a year after his high-profile switch to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli. The Brazilian forward, who joined the Saudi Pro League in 2023 after eight stellar years at Liverpool, is reportedly seeking an early exit and exploring options for a possible return to Europe — with a dream homecoming on his mind.

Discontent in the Desert

Firmino’s arrival in Saudi Arabia was initially seen as a marquee signing for Al-Ahli, with expectations high that his creativity and experience would light up the league. However, after a promising start, the 32-year-old has struggled to maintain consistent form and adapt to the pace and structure of Saudi football.

Off the pitch, sources close to the player suggest Firmino has found it difficult to settle, citing lifestyle and family factors as key concerns. As a result, he is said to be "actively looking" at potential exit routes ahead of the summer transfer window.

Europe Calling – But Where?

While several European clubs have already made contact with Firmino’s representatives, speculation continues to swirl around a return to Liverpool — a club where he won every major trophy and built a legacy under Jürgen Klopp. Though a reunion at Anfield may be unlikely given Liverpool’s current squad evolution, Firmino is open to a move back to the Premier League or other top European leagues.

Clubs in Brazil have also been monitoring the situation, as a return to his homeland could appeal emotionally — especially if a European option doesn’t materialize.

Al-Ahli Open to Talks

Al-Ahli are reportedly aware of Firmino’s growing desire to leave and are not expected to block his exit, provided a suitable offer is received. The club has already begun looking at replacements and restructuring their foreign player quota as they prepare for next season.

While Firmino’s contract still has time left to run, the mutual understanding between player and club could pave the way for an amicable parting.
