However, despite City’s progress, Bayern Munich continue to hold the upper hand in the race for the German playmaker, even as the transfer fee rises and Real Madrid begin to cool their interest.

The 21-year-old has been in stellar form for Leverkusen, helping guide them to a historic unbeaten domestic campaign. Bayern Munich Still Hold the Cards
Despite City’s early breakthrough, Bayern Munich are still considered favourites to land Wirtz — if and when he becomes available.
