Grimsby Town secure loan signing of Bradford's Oduor

GRIMSBY TOWN SIGN BRADFORD CITY WINGER CLARKE ODUOR ON SEASON-LOAN

Grimsby Town have boosted their attacking options with the signing of Kenyan international winger Clarke Oduor, who joins the Mariners on a season-long loan from Bradford City.

The 26-year-old wide man arrives with a strong pedigree in English football, having played at both Championship and League One level earlier in his career. Oduor first came through the academy ranks at Leeds United, where his technical ability and versatility on the left side quickly drew attention. After leaving Elland Road, he went on to join Barnsley in 2019, making more than 50 appearances during a four-year stay that included three seasons in the Championship. One of his most memorable moments for the Tykes came in 2020, when he scored the dramatic winning goal against Brentford that kept Barnsley in the second tier.

Following his spell at Oakwell, Oduor moved to Bradford City in 2023. He became part of a promotion-winning squad last season, helping the Bantams climb into League One. Known for his pace, dribbling and ability to stretch defences, he has also shown adaptability by operating as a left-back or left wing-back when needed.

On the international stage, Oduor has been capped twice by Kenya, representing the Harambee Stars since 2019. His presence at Blundell Park adds further quality and experience to a Grimsby side already pushing at the top end of League Two. The Mariners currently sit fourth in the table, just a single point adrift of leaders Crewe Alexandra, and Oduor’s arrival is expected to give them an extra dimension in attack as they aim for promotion.

The signing also highlights manager David Artell’s ambition to blend youthful energy with seasoned professionals capable of handling the pressures of a promotion race. For Oduor, the loan spell presents an opportunity to gain regular minutes, showcase his talent, and play a leading role in Grimsby’s campaign.
