Bournemouth sign winger Amine Adli from Bayer Leverkusen for £25 million

BOURNEMOUTH SIGN BAYER LEVERKUSEN WINGER AMINE ADLI FOR UP TO £25.1M

Bournemouth have bolstered their attacking ranks with the capture of versatile winger Amine Adli from German champions Bayer Leverkusen in a deal that could eventually be worth £25.1 million.

The 25-year-old Morocco international has penned a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium, becoming the club’s seventh addition of a busy summer transfer window.

From Leverkusen Glory to Premier League Ambition

Adli arrives on the south coast after a hugely successful spell in the Bundesliga. The French-born forward featured in 143 matches for Leverkusen in all competitions, and enjoyed a standout 2023-24 campaign under Xabi Alonso, contributing 10 goals and 12 assists in 42 appearances as the club clinched a historic domestic double – lifting both the Bundesliga title and the DFB-Pokal.

While Adli is most commonly deployed on the left wing, he is equally comfortable operating on the right or in a more central number-10 role, offering manager Andoni Iraola tactical flexibility and creativity in the final third.

Speaking after sealing the move, Adli expressed his excitement at embarking on a new chapter:

“Joining Bournemouth is a big step in my career. I’ve followed the Premier League since I was young and I’m looking forward to testing myself in the most competitive league in the world. The club’s vision really convinced me.”

 Foley Era Spending Continues

Adli’s arrival takes Bournemouth’s spending under American owner Bill Foley to nearly £350 million since his consortium completed their takeover in late 2022. The Cherries have steadily built a more ambitious, attack-minded squad, with a clear focus on youth, pace, and high-intensity football.

This summer alone, Bournemouth have reshaped their squad considerably — both in terms of incomings and outgoings. The club have recouped around £150 million from the sales of defensive trio Milos Kerkez (Liverpool), Dean Huijsen (Real Madrid), and Illia Zabarnyi (Paris Saint-Germain).

🔎 One More Target Before Deadline Day?

Despite a flurry of business, Bournemouth are believed to be nearing the end of their summer recruitment, though talks remain ongoing over a potential loan deal for Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi. The Blues are understood to prefer a permanent transfer, which may complicate negotiations.

What Adli Brings

With Adli’s arrival, Iraola gains a dynamic wide player known for his acceleration, close control, and intelligent movement between the lines. His ability to glide past defenders and link play will be crucial as Bournemouth aim to push higher up the Premier League table and evolve beyond being just relegation battlers.

The signing is also a clear signal of intent — that Bournemouth intend not only to survive but to compete — adding a title-winning pedigree to a young and ambitious squad.
