Transfer battle intensifies as Inter join Arsenal & Napoli for €50m Lookman

INTER MAKE LOOKMAN #1 TARGET: ATALANTA SET €50M PRICE TAG AMID ARSENAL & NAPOLI INTEREST

Inter Milan have identified Ademola Lookman as their primary attacking target for the summer transfer window, with Atalanta setting a firm €50 million valuation for the Nigerian international amid growing competition from Arsenal and Napoli.

Lookman, 27, has enjoyed a meteoric rise since joining Atalanta, emerging as one of Serie A’s most electrifying forwards. After a sensational 2024/25 season that saw him deliver consistent goals and assists—along with a memorable hat-trick in the Europa League final—he has now become one of the most sought-after names in the Italian top flight.

Inter are now leading the race for his signature, having made direct contact to express their intent to build their new-look front line around the versatile attacker. With questions around the long-term futures of several of their current forwards, Inter believe Lookman’s ability to operate across the front three and his clinical edge in big matches make him the ideal reinforcement.

However, Atalanta are standing firm on their asking price. The Bergamo-based club know they hold a strong negotiating position, given Lookman’s contract situation and the interest from other European giants. They are unwilling to sell for anything less than €50 million, particularly to a domestic rival like Inter.

Arsenal have also been monitoring Lookman’s situation closely as they seek to add more directness and goal threat from wide areas, while Napoli are eyeing the Atalanta star as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, should he leave during this window.

Lookman himself is said to be open to a move, but he remains focused on his development and is not rushing into any decision. The Nigerian forward has made it clear he wants to continue playing at a high level, with Champions League football and a clear sporting project likely to influence his choice.

As negotiations intensify in the coming weeks, Inter are expected to push hard to get a deal done, but they will have to move quickly and decisively to fend off serious competition from both England and Italy.
