Milan line up €20m move for Madrid full-back to succeed departing Hernandez

XABI ALONSO SETS €20M DEMAND AS AC MILAN PURSUE REAL MADRID FULL-BACK TO SUCCEED THEO

AC Milan have identified Fran García of Real Madrid as a leading candidate to replace Theo Hernandez, following the Frenchman’s recent departure from the San Siro.

With Hernandez completing a high-profile move to the Saudi Pro League, Milan have shifted their attention to finding a dependable left-back who can immediately slot into the starting XI. Fran García has emerged as a serious option, with club officials impressed by his attacking instincts, pace, and familiarity with high-intensity football at the top level.

The 24-year-old Spaniard rejoined Real Madrid from Rayo Vallecano last year but has struggled for regular starts amid fierce competition. Despite limited minutes, García has shown flashes of quality—particularly his ability to drive forward, deliver dangerous crosses, and recover quickly on the defensive end.

Milan view García as a natural fit for their system, which relies heavily on full-backs to provide width and support in advanced areas. Discussions between the two clubs are said to be underway, with Madrid reportedly open to letting the player leave for the right fee, especially as they continue to reshape their squad this summer.

A potential deal is expected to cost around €20 million, and Milan are exploring both permanent and loan options with a view to buy. García is believed to be receptive to the move, knowing that a switch to Serie A could offer more consistent playing time and the opportunity to play a key role in a title-challenging side.

For Milan, replacing Hernandez is no small task—but the club is determined to act swiftly, and García ticks many of the boxes they’re looking for: youth, top-level experience, and attacking flair from the back.

With pre-season fast approaching, this move could gather pace quickly in the coming days.
