Clock is ticking! Amorim orders Man Utd to seal Mbeumo deal in 48 hours

MAN UTD ON THE CLOCK: AMORIM DEMANDS MBEUMO DEAL COMPLETED BEFORE DEADLINE

Manchester United’s pursuit of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo has reached a critical stage, with new head coach Rúben Amorim reportedly urging the club to finalise the transfer before the team departs for their pre-season tour on July 22.

The Red Devils have already seen two bids rejected by Brentford, who are standing firm on their valuation of the Cameroonian international. United remain in active negotiations, but the drawn-out process has led to growing frustration behind the scenes — including from Mbeumo himself, who is said to be eager for the next step in his career.

Mbeumo, 25, has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most consistent and versatile forwards, capable of playing out wide or centrally. His pace, pressing intensity, and creative output make him an ideal fit for Amorim’s high-tempo, attacking system at Old Trafford.

Amorim, keen to build early momentum and establish tactical cohesion, has made it clear to club officials that he wants the bulk of the squad assembled before pre-season begins, with Mbeumo considered a key part of his attacking plans. United are therefore expected to return with a third offer—closer to Brentford’s asking price—in a final attempt to get the deal over the line.

Brentford, aware of Mbeumo’s importance and the limited time to secure a replacement, are in no rush to sell unless their valuation is met in full. The club views the player as central to their plans but is also realistic about the growing pressure from the player’s camp and the scale of United’s interest.

With less than two weeks until the squad travels, United’s top brass are now accelerating negotiations. The club is also weighing alternative targets in case a breakthrough with Brentford cannot be reached, but Amorim remains adamant: Bryan Mbeumo is the priority, and he wants him on the plane when pre-season kicks off.
