Liverpool have identified PSG winger Bradley Barcola as a primary transfer target, with reports suggesting the club are ready to test the Parisian club's resolve this summer. The 23-year-old French international has emerged as Arne Slot's preferred option to inject pace and directness into the attacking line as the window enters its final weeks.

Barcola had a brilliant 2024-25 season at PSG — 14 league goals, the Champions League, a continental treble. He is quick, two-footed, and comfortable cutting in from the left or stretching play from the right. At 23 and entering the prime years of his career, he ticks every box for a Liverpool side that likes to press high and counter with pace.

PSG are not natural sellers. They spent €45 million on Barcola just three years ago, and the value on his head is considerably higher now. Any deal would realistically require north of £90 million — a figure Liverpool will need to commit to if they want to make this happen before the September deadline.

The complication is that PSG have not publicly indicated any desire to sell. Their squad is built around youth and speed, and Barcola fits both. Whether there is a willingness to listen behind closed doors is the question that Liverpool's sporting structure is now trying to answer.

Liverpool's summer has been quieter than expected on the attacking front, which makes this pursuit all the more significant. If Barcola arrives, Slot gets the wide forward he wants. If not, the club will need to recalibrate quickly. Either way, the next few weeks will be decisive for both parties.
