West Bromwich Albion sign Manchester United midfielder Collyer on loan

WEST BROMWICH ALBION SECURE MIDFIELDER TOBY COLLYER ON SEASON-LONG LOAN FROM MANCHESTER UNITED

West Bromwich Albion have bolstered their midfield options with the arrival of Toby Collyer, who joins on a season-long loan from Manchester United.

The 21-year-old midfielder, a product of United’s highly regarded academy system, made his senior breakthrough last season under Erik ten Hag. He featured six times in the Premier League, including a memorable debut against Liverpool in September 2024, where his composure and energy in midfield drew praise from both fans and pundits.

West Brom’s sporting director Andrew Nestor welcomed the signing, emphasising how Collyer fits into the club’s vision:

“Toby is a dynamic midfielder we’ve admired for some time. His blend of athleticism, progressive passing, and intelligence on the ball makes him a perfect addition to our midfield group. We believe he has the qualities to leave a real mark on this season.”

Collyer, who is known for his versatility as both a deep-lying playmaker and a box-to-box presence, will add competition and balance to Carlos Corberán’s side.

He is in contention to make his Baggies debut this weekend when West Brom face newly promoted Wrexham in the Championship.

For Collyer, the move represents a chance to gain consistent first-team experience in a demanding league, while for West Brom, it signals intent as they push for promotion.
