ISAK'S LIVERPOOL DREAM ALIVE! NEWCASTLE STRIKER 'DETERMINED' TO FORCE ANFIELD MOVE
Alexander Isak’s determination to leave Newcastle United shows no sign of fading, with the Swedish striker intent on sealing a move to Liverpool before the summer transfer window closes.
The 25-year-old is understood to be resolute about his future, even after Newcastle rebuffed Liverpool’s £110m bid earlier this month. While the Reds publicly hinted at walking away from negotiations, they remain active in the market — also working on a deal for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.
Eddie Howe has admitted that “everything is in play” regarding Isak’s situation but made it clear he cannot include the striker in his current plans. That stance means Isak is set to miss Newcastle’s opening Premier League clash at Aston Villa this weekend.
The forward’s pre-season was disrupted by a thigh injury, keeping him out of the club’s tour of the Far East. He instead trained at former side Real Sociedad before returning to Tyneside last week.
Isak, who was a standout performer last season with 27 goals in 42 games, is still contracted to Newcastle until 2028 — but his ambitions may lie firmly at Anfield.
