Crystal Palace complete signing of Villarreal's Yeremy Pino

CRYSTAL PALACE SIGN VILLARREAL WINGER YEREMY PINO IN £26M DEAL

The 22-year-old has agreed a five-year deal at Selhurst Park and could feature immediately in Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Aston Villa.

Although Villarreal originally inserted a £69m release clause into his contract, the La Liga club accepted Palace’s bid with less than two years left on his deal.

Palace chairman Steve Parish welcomed the move, saying:

“To bring in a player of Yeremy’s quality at this stage of his career is a huge boost. He already has proven experience at the top level and we believe he will excite our supporters from the very first game.”

Pino, who came through the youth ranks at Las Palmas before joining Villarreal, broke into their first team in 2020. Since then, he has clocked up 133 appearances, helping the Yellow Submarine qualify for the Champions League last season.

On the international stage, he has already scored three goals in 15 caps for Spain, underlining his reputation as one of the country’s brightest attacking prospects.

His arrival follows the £60m departure of Eberechi Eze to Arsenal, with Pino becoming Palace’s third addition of the summer after goalkeeper Walter Benitez and defender Borna Sosa.

The Eagles are also continuing to explore further reinforcements, with Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji among the players under consideration.
