EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham consider move for Crystal Palace's Marc Guéhi

SPURS READY TO RENEW GUEHI CHASE! TOTTENHAM PREPARE NEW APPROACH AFTER LIVERPOOL ENTER RACE FOR PALACE STAR

Tottenham Hotspur have revived their interest in Marc Guehi as part of their summer plans to strengthen the backline. The Crystal Palace defender, long admired in North London, is once again a top target, with Spurs readying a renewed bid after their initial approach was turned down earlier this year.

Despite strong competition from Premier League rivals — particularly Liverpool — Spurs are not backing down in their pursuit. With Cristian Romero’s future uncertain due to recent injury concerns and fitness inconsistencies, Tottenham’s need for a reliable, composed centre-back has become a priority ahead of the new campaign.

Marc Guehi, now 25, has established himself as one of the league’s most consistent and mature defenders. His leadership, positional awareness, and ball-playing ability make him a natural fit for Ange Postecoglou’s high-line, possession-based system. He is seen not only as an immediate upgrade but as a long-term solution for a team chasing Champions League qualification.

While Crystal Palace stood firm in January and last summer, their stance may be softening. Guehi is now entering the final year of his contract, which leaves the club vulnerable to losing him on a free if they don’t cash in this window. A deal in the region of £50–60 million could be enough to open negotiations.

The player, meanwhile, is keeping his options open. He is keen to remain at the top level and is said to be considering opportunities that guarantee him both European football and a central role. Tottenham are prepared to meet those expectations — but they are not alone.

Liverpool, along with other English and European clubs, continue to monitor the situation closely. The battle for Guehi could come down to which club moves fastest — and most convincingly.

With pre-season underway and defensive reinforcements a clear need, Tottenham may soon accelerate talks. Guehi, should he return to north London, would represent a major statement — and possibly one of the marquee defensive signings of the summer.
