REAL MADRID EYE SUMMER MOVE FOR THEO HERNANDEZ – AS AC MILAN LEFT-BACK'S CONTRACT TALKS STALL
Real Madrid are closely monitoring Theo Hernandez’s situation at AC Milan, with the Spanish giants considering a summer move to bring the French full-back back to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Hernandez, now a key figure at Milan, is facing uncertainty over his future due to stalled contract talks. With his current deal set to expire in 2026, Milan have been working to secure a long-term extension. However, negotiations have reportedly hit a roadblock, raising the possibility of a transfer at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old left-back has been instrumental for Milan over the last few seasons, combining speed, attacking intent, and defensive reliability. But with the club reluctant to risk losing him for free further down the line, they are believed to be open to selling him this summer — provided the right offer comes in.
Real Madrid, who originally signed Hernandez from Atlético Madrid back in 2017, are now weighing the option of bringing him back. Although his first spell in Madrid was underwhelming, the player has developed significantly in Italy and is now viewed as a far more complete defender.
Injuries and inconsistency in the left-back position have led Madrid to explore reinforcements. While Ferland Mendy has been a dependable option, his availability has been an ongoing concern. As a result, the club sees Hernandez as a strong candidate to strengthen the squad for next season.
There is speculation that a swap involving Mendy could be proposed, which might suit both clubs. Hernandez is said to be open to a return to Spain, potentially giving Real Madrid an edge in the race.
Several top European clubs are also said to be monitoring the situation, but Madrid’s existing relationship with the player and his previous ties to the club could prove decisive if they move forward with a formal bid.
As the summer transfer window nears, Theo Hernandez’s future remains up in the air — and a return to La Liga could soon be on the cards.
