Arsenal receive major transfer boost for Alexander Isak after worst-case scenario materializes for Newcastle as latest transfer news emerges The possibility of

Arsenal's transfer pursuit of Alexander Isak has taken a major turn following Newcastle's unfortunate financial setback.

The Gunners had shown strong interest in Isak in recent months but were apparently turned off by the Magpies' eye-watering offer of nearly £200m.

RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesco is also a striker targeted by Arsenal, and his cost should come down significantly.
However, the German club are not necessarily happy to see him leave, as there are attempts  to sign him to  a new contract and keep him for another season.

Newcastle are also unlikely to agree to sell their star attacker, but  profit and sustainability concerns will need to be taken into account.
Therefore, Arsenal's other high-profile player, Bruno Guimarães, may also be sold, meaning they may have to part ways with their regular players.

But his contract, which runs until the end of June, includes a £100m release clause, so the Brazil international's asking price is very clear.
A triple-digit sale could give Newcastle a significant financial boost if approved, and given they  missed out on so much money, it may  need to be done now.

Newcastle's 4-2 win against Brentford on the final day took them seventh and looked like it would be enough to qualify for the UEFA Conference League.
However, given their position in the league, Newcastle were  at risk of missing out on European football if Manchester United, who finished bottom of the table, won the FA Cup.

And against all odds, Erik ten Hag led his team to  victory over arch-rivals Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.

As a result, Newcastle will not be playing in Europe next season and will have eight fewer games on the calendar, meaning there will be no significant financial support.
